“Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but those who promote peace have joy”
– Proverbs 12:20
A place where religious barriers seemed to have vanished into thin air, A place where you would see ladies with ‘prasadham’ (from temple) and ‘candles’ (for church) in same hands, A place where all people prayed alike. Piravom velliya pally has been a deep emotion for each and every hearts since time. Yet today , it has become a battleground. The Christian community have become a laughing stock in front of everyone. Nobody seems to understand the reason of the fights. Fight for what exactly ? Power in a religious place ? An atheist would have more refined behaviour than the people who claim to have God in them. Pure hypocrisy.
Piravom, a place which has witnessed religious harmony for decades, is experiencing a wedge within a religion itself. What has really happened to our conscience ? What has happened to the refinements of minds ? When will people understand that God or belief is not a thing to be established by Power ? It’s really terrifying to think about a closed Piravom velliya pally in near future. Not just near, anywhere in future. Our future generations should witness the pride of our velliya pally. The lustre and fire of the velliya pally should remain and should not fade with time. Don’t turn a place of prayer into a battleground. Don’t just make your religion itself ashamed of you. Lets have a gleam of hope for a peaceful settlement.
Our future generations should witness the pride of our velliya pally, like it had been always.
